Why the Five?

Why engage the senses in studying the Bible? God actually provides reasons in His Word. When we use our senses of hearing, touch, sight, taste, and smell, we take in more of Him. And the more we take in, the more we can share with others.

• SEEING - Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law. (Psalm 119:18)

• HEARING - So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

• TASTING - Also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy good in all his labor, is the gift of God. (Ecclesiastes 3:13)

• SMELLING - For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved and in those who perish.(2 Corinthians 2:15)

• TOUCHING - Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.” (Matthew 17:7)
